アイオワ大学Sam Youngとの共同研究です。まる４年かかりましたが、なんとかpublicationまでこぎつけることができました。

久しぶりの京都

東大の尾藤先生が領域代表をつとめる新学術領域の国際シンポジウムに班友として参加させていただきました。カン研究所時代に過ごした京都の鴨川沿いで。

新年度

桜も満開です。
本年度も張り切っていきましょう。

OIST meeting

OISTのシナプスmeetingに参加しています。
Tobias, Nils, Sigritらと久しぶりに再会。
しかし、DrosophilaのBrpの解析はかなり進んでいて、いつもながら、競争が激しいなあと実感します。
気合い入れ直しですわ・・。

A new CAST paper

ずいぶん時間がかかりましたが、SAD-Bリン酸化酵素によるCASTリン酸化の論文がCell Reports誌にpublishされました。CASTがSAD-Bによってリン酸化されることを見つけたのは、富山大学時代の2006年ですから、１０年越しです。。
SAD-B Phosphorylation of CAST Controls Active Zone Vesicle Recycling for Synaptic Depression

We just published　a new CAST paper in Cell Reports, which shows that phosphorylation of the active zone protein CAST by SAD-B controls short-term synaptic plasticity, synaptic depression, in mammalian neurons. We believe that this finding should shed new light on molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying short term synaptic plasticity.
